Diana Taurasi is hopeful that she’ll be ready to go for the United States’ opener versus Nigeria on Tuesday.
“That’s the plan,” she said Wednesday. “I’m checking all the boxes and hopefully will be ready.”
The veteran guard is reportedly ramping up her workload at practices after dealing with a sternum fracture and then a hip pointer injury that sidelined her during of the All-Star Game. The Phoenix Mercury legend hasn’t seen game action since July 3.
Taurasi, alongside longtime U.S. teammate Sue Bird, is in pursuit of her fifth-straight Olympic gold medal.
