The Dream vs Sky WNBA Commissioner's Cup rivalry added a new chapter Tuesday night, as Atlanta took down Skylar Diggins and Chicago 82-75 behind star forward Angel Reese.
Reese led the way with 17 points and 17 rebounds in her first regular-season game against the team that drafted her in 2024.
The double-double marked Reese's 57th in 75 career games. That gives the Dream forward the most double-doubles through 75 games in WNBA history while tying Blake Griffin for the second-most in the NBA.
Dream Edge Out Chicago Late in the 4th Quarter
Atlanta fell behind in the second half. However the Dream took control in the fourth quarter, outscoring Chicago 25-17 to pull away.
Jordin Canada controlled the floor with 14 points and six assists while Rhyne Howard added 17 points and five assists. The Dream guard became the youngest player in WNBA history to reach 2,500 career points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists, 200 steals, and 100 blocks during the game.
But the scoring wasn't limited to a talented few.
Atlanta's entire roster showed up for the Dream's win against Chicago. Naz Hillmon scored a season-high 16 points on 50% shooting, including three 3-pointers. Meanwhile, Allisha Gray chipped in 14 points and three steals off the bench.
Still, Chicago stayed close for most of the contest.
Skylar Diggins Leads Chicago Push in Dream vs Sky Clash
Natasha Cloud led the Sky with 18 points off the bench, while Skylar Diggins added 17 points, and Kamilla Cardoso contributed 13 points.
But the Sky couldn't keep pace in the fourth quarter, as Atlanta's balanced scoring proved too much down the stretch.
The Dream will next take on the New York Liberty at home on Thursday at 7:30 PM ET, live on WNBA League Pass.
The Sky, meanwhile, will travel to Indiana to face the Fever on Thursday at 7 PM ET, live on Prime.
