Ebony Salmon’s NWSL debut is one for the history books.

It took mere seconds for Salmon to get on the scoreboard after being subbed into Sunday’s game in the 71st minute.

After collecting the ball at the top of the box, Salmon evaded a swarm of defenders, pushing the ball past Houston’s back line to rifle a shot past Jane Campbell. The moment of individual brilliance served as the go-ahead goal for Racing Louisville, putting the team up 1-0.

Sunday was the English striker’s first game with Louisville after being signed from Bristol City in May.

Both teams had a series of solid chances on goal throughout the match, putting pressure on Jane Campbell and Michelle Betos. Houston outshot Racing Louisville eight to five but were unable to convert in the final third, leaving the scoreline at 1-0.

Racing Louisville’s victory over the Dash marked the club’s second win of the regular season.
