No. 7 Indiana is gaining speed, gearing up to host No. 9 Toronto in tonight's Fever vs Tempo clash hot off Saturday’s 85-75 win over No. 15 Connecticut.
The Fever rides a three-game winning streak into tonight’s matchup, after guard Caitlin Clark dropped 25 points on the Sun while shooting 58% from the floor and 50% from three.
“I didn’t feel a let-down today like in the other games,” Indiana coach Stephanie White said postgame “Some of our missed shots dictated our defense tonight. [But] we recognized what was happening and stayed positive.”
The Tempo is on a streak of its own, dropping two in a row after Sunday’s 102-77 blowout loss to No. 4 Atlanta.
The Dream stifled Toronto’s offense, holding top scorers Brittney Sykes and Marina Mabrey to just 20 points combined while Izzy Harrison got ejected after committing a high-profile Flagrant 2 on Angel Reese.
“Marina and Brittney are both great players, and the Tempo goes as they go,” Dream guard Allisha Gray said. “The biggest thing was trying to contain them as much as possible.”
