The Indiana Fever beat the Las Vegas Aces 109-75 on Sunday, marking one of the most lopsided WNBA scores of the season. The win was also the second time in eight days the Fever knocked off the defending champions on its home floor.
Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston Add to Their WNBA Score Tally
Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 27 points, securing her sixth straight game with at least 25. Fellow WNBA All-Star starter Aliyah Boston added 19 points and 11 rebounds. And Sophie Cunningham poured in 20 off the bench on 6-of-7 from beyond the arc. Indiana shot 56% from the field and 48% from 3-point range.
Still, the night belonged to Caitlin Clark.
Caitlin Clark Breaks Record in Indiana Fever vs Las Vegas Aces Clash
Playing just 24 minutes while managing a back injury, she finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. One of those assists, a third-quarter feed to Monique Billings, gave her 600 for her career in only 72 games. That record made her the fastest player in WNBA history to reach the milestone.
"I thought our team was tough-minded," Fever coach Stephanie White said after the win. "We're building consistency to these types of efforts. We're not always going to shoot the ball the way that we did, but I thought we found the best shot on the floor."
