Świątek Dismisses Jovic in Straight Sets
The six-time Grand Slam champion set the pace early, reeling off five straight games to build a commanding first-set lead. After winning just a single game in the opener, Jovic found more of a foothold in the second.
The 18-year-old US tennis star, currently ranked No. 13 following a title run in Guadalajara last month, held firm early before Świątek broke serve twice down the stretch. The Pole was able to eventually close out the match in just one hour and 36 minutes.
"Everything was working today," Świątek said after the win. "I was more proactive. I was using more of the chances that I got."
