Angel City FC’s NWSL regular-season debut was a star-studded affair, with the club’s owners and investors showing up to Banc of California Stadium for Friday’s home-opener.

A crowd of 22,000 fans packed into the Los Angeles venue, energizing ACFC as the team downed North Carolina 2-1.

Investors Alex Ohanian, Abby Wambach and Billie Jean King, among others, were in attendance for the historic night, supporting the club in their regular-season victory.

ACFC investor Jennifer Garner also showed up at Banc of California Stadium, telling Lori Lindsey prior to kickoff, “I don’t know football, I don’t understand it — soccer, or whatever the heck we call it these days — but I do understand women supporting women. And I do understand really celebrating the heroes that all of you are to our kids — boys and girls.”

Garner was seen in the stands Friday night, leading ACFC fans in cheering on the club.

Angel City will continue their NWSL regular-season campaign on Sunday, May 8, against the Orlando Pride.
