Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum underwent a “minimally invasive right shoulder arthroscopic procedure for her labrum,” the team announced Wednesday via Twitter.

The guard is expected to make a full recovery and to return to offseason training leading up to the 2023 season.

The 2023 season will be Plum’s sixth in the WNBA. She was drafted first overall in 2017 by the San Antonio Stars, the franchise that later became the Aces.

After averaging 8.9 points and 3.5 assists per game through her first three seasons, she missed the 2020 season due to an Achilles tendon injury. But she broke out in 2021, posting 14.8 points and 3.6 assists per game en route to the WNBA Sixth Player of the Year award.

Plum elevated her game again in 2022. The guard was named to the All-WNBA first team after averaging 20.2 points per game, second in the league to Storm star Breanna Stewart. She also added 5.1 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game, and she was a key piece in her team’s run to the WNBA championship.

Plum also was named a WNBA All-Star for the first time in 2022, and she received the MVP award during the All-Star game after scoring 30 points.
