A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces are in party mode after clinching the franchise’s first WNBA title Sunday.
The Aces downed the Connecticut Sun 78-71 in Game 4 of the WNBA Finals at Mohegan Sun Arena to claim a 3-1 win in the championship series. They head back to Las Vegas ready to celebrate with their city.
“Vegas, you have to take four shots. Children, take shots of ginger ale. But you have to take four shots before you pull up to the parade — and drink responsibly,” Wilson said after the historic win. “To get to the parade you have to be four shots in.”

Las Vegas will celebrate the Aces’ championship Tuesday with a parade on the Las Vegas Strip. The festivities are set to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET, with the parade route beginning at Caesars Palace and concluding at the Bellagio.
“The Bellagio fountains, we skiing across that thing,” Wilson said. “We going crazy. Because I don’t think people understand how important this really is. This is huge.”
The WNBA championship trophy caps off a landmark season for Wilson, who won her second league MVP award while also helping the Aces to a Commissioner’s Cup title and finally to a league championship.
After playing all 40 minutes of Game 4, Wilson is ready to party. She even requested the presence of a special guest for the parade.
“Usher, I better see you, Usher,” she said after the win. “I’m not playing with you. I better see you, Usher.”
