The announcement comes weeks after Fargas stepped down from her post as head coach of the LSU women’s basketball team. In her decade-long tenure at the school, Fargas led the Tigers to six NCAA appearances. Kim Mulkey, the Hall of Famer who won three national championships at Baylor, was named LSU coach in Fargas’ place.
Fargas will fill the president role left behind by Bill Laimbeer, who will stay with the team as head coach.
“We are going to do everything in our power to make our front office the best in the business, and provide our players with all the tools they need to bring a championship to Las Vegas,” Fargas said in Tuesday’s press release.
The Aces open their season at the Seattle Storm on Saturday in a 2020 WNBA Finals rematch.
