Leylah Fernandez punched her ticket to the 2026 Singapore Open quarterfinals on Wednesday with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Alycia Parks. The WTA 500 win now puts her on a collision course with French Open champion and rival Mirra Andreeva, who cruised past Aliaksandra Sasnovich with a score of 6-2, 6-2 earlier in the day.

Fernandez, seeded sixth in the Asian tournament, jumped out to a 5-1 first-set lead before Parks was able to claw back to 5-4. Then, the Canadian star converted her first set point to win the frame.
Parks, who played with a heavily-taped right shoulder, struggled on serve. She finished with nine double faults and just a 45% first-serve percentage. Even so, she broke Fernandez early in the second set for a 2-1 edge. Fernandez answered with a break of her own, then rattled off four straight games to seal the win.
"Staying in my own bubble, executing my game plan… that was super important," Fernandez said afterward.
Meanwhile, top seed Andreeva ousted Sasnovich in just 72 minutes on the court. The Roland Garros winner now carries a 45-14 record and three titles in 2026.
Her head-to-head with Fernandez sits at 2-2 overall, but the Quebec native leads 2-0 on hard courts, including a 6-1, 6-4 rout in Toronto just weeks ago. Wednesday's quarterfinal could come down to whether Andreeva can flip that hard-court script.
