The NWSL transfer rumor mill continues, with Lieke Martens reportedly drawing “strong interest” from the league.
BBC’s Emma Sanders was the first to report the news regarding the Paris Saint-Germain and Netherlands star. Martens has a contract with PSG through 2025, having been with the French club since 2022.

Prior to that, she spent five seasons with FC Barcelona, winning the champions league in the 2020-21 season. She announced her move to PSG in June of 2022 on a three-year deal.
Through 25 appearances with PSG, the midfielder has six goals. So far this season, she has two goals in Champions League competition and three in D-1 Féminine, as well as three assists.
She’s also won a UEFA Women’s Championship with the Netherlands, and was a member of the runners-up finishing squad at the 2019 World Cup. She has 156 international appearances and 61 goals, which ranks second in team history behind Vivianne Miedema.
A move to the NWSL would mark the latest in a number of big-name signings, with Asisat Oshoala and Deyna Castellanos having recently signed with Bay FC from Barcelona and Man City, respectively
