Lindsey Vonn is adding awards show host to her list of accomplishments. The Olympic gold medalist and former professional skier has been named the host of the 2022 Laureus World Sports Awards Show that will air on NBC on Sunday, April 24.

The show will take place in Seville, Spain, but nominees and winners will participate virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Nominees from the United States include Simone Biles, Allyson Felix, Carissa Moore and Katie Ledecky.

In 2019, Vonn was honored by the Laureus Academy upon the conclusion of her career with the Laureus Spirit of Sport Award. In 2021, she became a member of the Academy.

“When I received the Laureus Spirit of Sport Award on my retirement in 2019, I remember saying I was sad to be leaving my sport but I was looking forward to the next chapter of my life and doing something incredible,” Vonn said in a news release. “That’s exactly how I feel now to be the host for the 2022 Laureus World Sports Awards in the beautiful city of Seville. This is going to be an incredible night for myself and for all the winners of these very special awards.

“I know how emotional and uplifting it is to receive a Laureus Award and it’s going to be so exciting to be part of the awards show in Seville.”

Since retiring, Vonn has directed “Picabo,” a 90-minute documentary about the career of Picabo Street. She also released a book called “Rise,” which was published in January and details her career and struggle with depression.
