Lisa Baird has resigned from the U.S. Soccer Federation’s Board of Directors, according to The Washington Post’s Steven Goff.

Baird, who also resigned from her position as NWSL commissioner on Friday amid league turmoil, had reportedly been an active and influential voice on the board.
U.S. Soccer announced Friday it would immediately open an investigation into the allegations of abuse and sexual misconduct reported in The Athletic. The North Carolina Courage fired coach Paul Riley after former players accused him of sexual coercion and emotional abuse in the article.
On Sunday night, the NWSL announced a new executive committee and disclosed a plan for “systemic transformation” aimed at protecting players and staff from misconduct.
