Nelly Korda has undergone surgery to remove a blood clot, she revealed Friday via Twitter. She announced the diagnosis of the clot in mid-March, saying then that she would be out for an indefinite amount of time.
On Friday, she thanked everyone “for the overwhelming support and messages I have received the last few weeks.”

“I recently underwent surgery for a blood clot in my subclavian vein,” she wrote. “I am pleased to report the procedure went well and the doctors were happy with the outcome. I am now home recovering and preparing to start rehab.
“I am looking forward to getting back to 100% so I can begin practicing.”
The 2021 Olympic gold medalist and seven-time LPGA Tour winner has had a rough start to the year after a banner season last year. She sits second in the Rolex World Rankings behind Jin Young Ko after missing the first major of the year – the Chevron Championship – in late March.
