Mack Leonard played hero for Florida State, blasting a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to help seal the ACC Championship for the Seminoles.
The Illinois State transfer broke the 5-5 deadlock between Florida State and Clemson in the bottom of the sixth, helping Florida State to an 8-6 victory Saturday.
The three-run bomb served as redemption for Leonard, who gave up three runs, two of which were earned, two hits and a walk over earlier in the game from the mound.

Saturday’s title matchup was a thriller, with Clemson briefly taking the lead in the fourth off a Sam Russ home run, putting the game at 5-4.
Florida State and Clemson had shaky starts to the contest, with both teams committing errors in the opening inning. Regaining their composure, each side fielded a compelling offensive performance as FSU pulled away down the stretch.
The victory over Clemson marks Florida State’s 18th ACC Championship.
