It was reported a little over a week ago that Skinner would be leaving the Orlando Pride to return to the Women’s Super League. At the time the Orlando Pride said they had “no comment on the situation.”
Three days later, Skinner stepped down as the Pride’s coach. In the release, the team said Skinner is pursuing “a coaching opportunity outside of the National Women’s Soccer League.”
Skinner joins the club on a two-year contract with a third-year option.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with the staff and this talented group of players,” Skinner said in a release. “It’s an exciting opportunity to lead the team into what will be another competitive WSL season; I want us to achieve success together and our aim is to give the fans a team they can continue to be proud of.”
