You can now add Harper’s Bazaar cover star to Megan Rapinoe’s long and winding resumé.

The USWNT icon graces the publication’s June/July issue, tackling everything from tattoos and love to civic engagement and equal pay.

As teammate Becky Sauerbrunn says in the piece, when Rapinoe talks, people listen. Something the star forward wishes everyone would speak up more about? What women earn.

Rapinoe tells Harper’s Bazaar, “Money is the way our society shows people, especially in sports, how we value them.” She adds that there needs to be more publicity and pride around the contracts that women sign in order to shift the narrative about compensation.

Rapinoe goes on to advocates for the amplification of joyous LGBTQ love stories, the importance of civic engagement, and the need for social justice.

The article also includes insights from Rapinoe’s teammates, her sister Jennifer, and her fiancée, Sue Bird.

The issue hits newsstands on June 8.
