The Phoenix Mercury snapped a three-game skid this week, edging the Los Angeles Sparks 94-87 at the Galen Center behind rookie forward Noémie Brochant's career night.

Tuesday's Mercury vs Sparks meeting ended a five-game road trip on a high note for Phoenix. Brochant finished with 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting with five steals.
That stat line put her alongside Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark as the only rookies since 2024 to record 20-plus points and five-plus steals in a single game. Brochant is also the first rookie in Phoenix Mercury franchise history to do it.
The team's veterans propped up the rookie's breakout. Alyssa Thomas nearly tripled up with 16 points, seven rebounds and nine assists, while Kahleah Copper netted 18. As a team, the Mercury shot 52% from the field and knocked down 9 of 25 from beyond the arc, enough to overcome 24 turnovers.
The win pushes Phoenix to 13-22 with the postseason chase tightening. From here, they open a five-game home series starting Sunday against the Portland Fire at 7 PM ET on ESPN.
The LA Sparks, meanwhile, travel to the New York Liberty on Thursday at 8 PM ET on Prime.
