Gotham FC is three points away from clinching a playoff berth after drawing with Kansas City 1-1 on Friday night.
Gotham needed a win to lock up a playoff spot, but a late first-half goal from Kansas City extended the club’s postseason chase.
Midge Purce put Gotham on the board early, charging into Kansas City’s box before drilling a low rocket into the far post. The finish marks Purce’s third goal in three games and catapults her to second in the Golden Boot race with nine goals this season.
