Osaka has taken a step back from competition after an emotional loss to Leylah Fernandez at the US Open, telling press following the match, “I honestly don’t know when I’m going to play my next tennis match.”
The 24-year-old’s post is the latest indication that Osaka could be returning to the WTA Tour sooner rather than later.
