NBA 2K27 will let 2K players build a women's basketball MyPLAYER upon the game's September 4th release date, marking a historic first in the franchise's nearly 27-year run.
NBA 2K27 Adds Women MyPLAYER Update
The addition brings WNBA representation beyond roster play and into the MyPLAYER builder, where users create and customize their own characters. Until now, that mode had been limited to men's builds only. With this update, NBA 2K finally opens its deepest customization tool to women's basketball.
Performance across all builds runs on the same framework in the now co-ed City, too. Height, weight, wingspan, and ratings drive gameplay regardless of the character's appearance. The builder also pulls from WNBA player animations, so on-court movement reflects the real game.
The latest updates continue the game's push towards gender inclusivity.
In July, NBA 2K27 revealed its Deluxe Edition cover featuring Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark. She joined Candace Parker, A'ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, and Angel Reese as WNBA players who have fronted the franchise.
"I think it's cool to see where the women's game is at this point in time," Clark said of the recognition.
When Does NBA 2K27 Come Out?
The NBA 2K release date is set for September 4th on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Deluxe and Ultra Edition owners get early access starting August 28th.
