Oklahoma softball rolled into the Super Regionals with a win Sunday, and it did so in true Oklahoma fashion: by decimating its opponent.
The Sooners’ 20-0 win in five innings against Texas A&M stands as the largest margin of victory in NCAA tournament history. With the historic victory, Oklahoma advances to its 12th consecutive Super Regional.
“I really will remember this day for a long time,” Oklahoma head coach Patty Gasso said. “I haven’t seen a team be so dominant in every way, shape or form. To see us do what we did today really catapults us into next weekend.”
In the first frame, Oklahoma sent 14 batters to the plate and erupted for nine runs on five hits. Jocelyn Alo hit another home run, the 115th of her career, to put the Sooners up 9-0.

โI think we really came into this game prepared,โ Alo said after the game. โWe had seen all three of their (starting pitchers) yesterday, so that gave us a really good idea of what they were going to do.
โBut overall, just as an offense we were zoned in and just controlling the strike zone and hitting the ball hard.โ
Texas A&M committed three errors in the opening inning, finding no answer for the Soonersโ bats.
“I thought Nicole did a really good job of just keeping (Texas A&M) off balance,” Gasso said. “I really felt like she was in complete control from the start.”
