Azzi Fudd may hear those who doubt UConn’s chances this season, but if so, she certainly hasn’t taken them to heart.
The sophomore threw down 32 points in the Huskies’ 91-69 win Sunday over NC State, marking her second straight 32-point game. The first came last Monday against No. 3 Texas.
Her 64 points in the last two games ties her with Maya Moore for the most of any UConn player in back-to-back contests against top 10 competition since at least 1999-2000, per ESPN.
Back to back 32 point games for Azzi Fudd.

The record comes on top of another she tied last Monday against the Longohorns. That night, she tied the program record set by Diana Taurasi for the most points scored by a UConn player against an opponent ranked in the top five.
For her efforts, Fudd was named the Big East player of the week.
Before her last two games, Fudd had not recorded a single 30-point game with the Huskies. She then set her a career high and matched it within days, all within the first three games of her sophomore season.
The Huskies have started the season strong despite key absences in Paige Bueckers and Ice Brady. Dorka Juhàsz is set to miss at least the next three games with a broken thumb.
UConn’s lack of depth showed Sunday, as no starter had less than 29 minutes and no substitute played more than 11. Four UConn players had 20 or more points, with 89 of UConn’s 92 points coming from those four players. Nika Mühl added 15 assists to set a new UConn record.
With the win, UConn is up to No. 3 in Just Women’s Sports’ college basketball rankings, but time will tell if the Huskies can sustain their current pace.
