The upsets in the women’s tennis bracket continued Monday in Tokyo. Paula Badosa, Alison Van Uytvanck and Donna Vekic each took out their Top 10 opponents to reach the third round at the Olympics.

No. 3 seed Aryna Sabalenka was the latest to fall, losing in three sets to Vekic, 4-6, 6-3, 6-7(3).

Badosa defeated No. 6 seed Iga Swiatek, the 2020 French Open champion, in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6(4).

Van Uytvanck took down No. 10 seed Petra Kvitova in three sets (5-7, 6-3, 6-0), coming from a set down to win the last 10 games and upset the two-time Wimbledon champion.

With top-seed Ash Barty exiting in the first round, four of the top ten players are now out of the draw. Naomi Osaka, the No. 2 seed representing the host country of Japan, advanced to the third round with a straight-set win over Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland.
