The Orlando Pride and defender Amy Turner are parting ways after the Pride released Turner from her contract.
On Twitter, Turner said she has “decided to move on and explore a new challenge in my career.”
“Thank you to everyone at Orlando who supported me during my time there,” she wrote. “Wishing the club good luck in the future!”

“On behalf of the Pride organization, we’d like to thank Amy for her contributions to the Club and wish her the best of luck moving forward,” Orlando Pride General Manager Ian Fleming said in a statement.
Turner made 19 total appearances for the club, scoring one goal. She joined Orlando in June of 2021. So far this season, she’s made 17 total passes, with an 88.2 percent success rate. In 2021, she held an 83.8 percent success rate on passes while recording 39 interceptions and 15 blocks.
Prior to joining the club, she spent three seasons with Manchester United, notching 50 appearances and scoring two goals.
The Pride are currently 11th in league standings with a 2-2-4 record and have lost their last two. Head coach Amanda Cromwell and assistant coach Seb Greene were placed on temporary administrative leave in early June following recommendations from the NWSL and NWSLPA.
