The Washington Spirit unveiled Friday two new kits and a new slogan for the 2022 NWSL regular season as they look to mount a title defense under new ownership.

D.C. United’s Bill Hamid and Washington Mystics star Natasha Cloud were featured in the jersey announcement.

The Spirit crest will now feature a star which represents the club’s first NWSL championship. One of the kits, called the Community Kit, will be worn during the Challenge Cup. Community partners DC Scores and WAGS will be featured on the jersey.

The other, named the 10-Year Anniversary Kit, will be worn throughout the regular season. It features a special, hip-level 10th anniversary patch. For the first time, the kits will feature a second, lighter shade of blue in the form of stripes down the side panels and on the sleeves. For the first time since 2019, the Spirit’s shorts will be navy.

There is not a jersey sponsor for the regular season kit as of yet.

For the 2022 season, the team will use the slogan “One Spirit.” According to a release, the slogan is meant to “signify the team and community’s common commitment to representing the nation’s capital.”
