Paige Bueckers put on a show in UConn’s season-opening 95-80 win over Arkansas on Sunday, notching a career-high 34 points to lead the No. 2 Huskies.
Bueckers went 15 for 19 from the floor and added six rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in the victory. The sophomore’s 34 points were the most by a UConn women’s basketball player in a season debut since Kerry Bascom scored 34 in the Huskies’ 1989 season opener.
