The UEFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers are hitting Paramount+, the network announced Wednesday.
Beginning with Group Stage play on Thursday, Paramount+ will stream matches featuring select national teams from Europe in the lead-up to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Between September and November, the network will have 15 matches available, including six featuring the England women’s national team and four featuring the German women’s national team.
A total of 11 UEFA national teams are set to qualify for the 2023 World Cup through Group Stage play, which will run through September 2022 before the playoffs kick off in October of the same year. Seven of the eight quarterfinalists at the 2018 World Cup were UEFA national teams, with England and Germany representing the group in the semifinals.
Paramount+ will also feature Concacaf Women’s World Cup Qualifying action beginning in November 2021 and the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, which serves as a World Cup qualifier and begins in January 2022.
In addition to the initial 15 matches, Paramount+ will announce the 2022 match schedule at a later date.
