The Phoenix Mercury were firing on all cylinders Wednesday night in a 106-79 win over the New York Liberty. It was the team’s highest scoring output since 2017, when they put up 107 points on the Dallas Wings.
Brittney Griner recorded 26 points and nine rebounds, including a dunk in the first quarter, before going down with an ankle injury with 1:38 remaining. Phoenix’s star center finished the game 11-of-17 from the field, and the Mercury shot 56.6 percent overall.

Skylar Diggins-Smith backed up her stellar 25-point performance on Saturday to lead the team with 27 points on 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc.
Diana Taurasi added 21 points and nine assists in the win. Together, Phoenix’s Big 3 had 74 points to lead the Mercury to their fourth straight win and ninth in their last 12 games.
