Sam Kerr would like you to know she is not a midfielder.

When the PFA Women’s Super League team of the year was announced on Friday, it wasn’t surprising that the league’s golden boot winner made the cut. What was surprising, however, was Kerr’s designation as a midfielder.

The Chelsea striker took to Twitter to correct the record herself, stating, “I never played midfield in me life.”

Kerr, who led the WSL in scoring for the season with 21 goals, is known for playing up the pitch, poaching balls and punishing defenses- not necessarily for managing the midfield.

Chelsea teammate Fran Kirby and Manchester City’s Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly filled the striker slots for the Professional Footballer’s Association’s select 11. Kerr was joined in the midfield by Manchester City’s Caroline Weir and Sam Mewis.
