Three days after San Diego FC announced its trade for Alex Morgan, the deal became official after the NWSL Expansion Draft on Thursday night. The club has acquired the star striker from the Orlando Pride in exchange for midfielder Angharad James and $275,000 in allocation money.

The dollar amount is the largest moved in a single trade in NWSL history.

San Diego also picked up defender Christen Westphal and forward Amirah Ali from the Portland Thorns after Thursday’s draft. In exchange, Portland will receive $50,000 in allocation money.

In total, San Diego made just two selections Thursday night who will stick with the team in Kristen McNabb and Kaleigh Riehl. The Wave passed on their sixth and eighth overall picks.
