After accepting a one-month suspension due to a failed drug test for marijuana, Richardson has not been selected for the 4×100 relay team. Her failure to be included means that she will miss the Olympics entirely.
Richardson has accepted the suspension, apologizing on The “Today” Show and stating that she had been going through a rough time after the passing of her biological mother.
There was initially some hope she might be selected for the 4×100 relay team. The race will take place on Aug. 6, outside of Richardson’s suspension window.
