Sweden downs Australia 4-2 in second straight Olympic win

Sweden remains atop Group G after defeating Australia 4-2 on Saturday.

Sweden started on the front foot, going up 1-0 early, but a brace from Sam Kerr powered the Matildas to a 2-1 lead to start the second half. A late three-goal rally from the Swedes turned the game on its head, securing the win for the Group G leaders.

Fridolina Rolfo led Sweden, netting two goals, with Stina Blackstenius and Lina Hurtig adding a goal each to Sweden’s tally.

Sweden remains unbeaten going into their final Group G match against New Zealand. Australia heads into their third Group G game against the United States with a win and a loss to their record, setting up a potential winner-take-all clash with the Americans.
