Team USA won the women’s medal count for the second Winter Olympics in a row, taking home more medals in women’s events than any other nation in Beijing.
Women athletes played a part in winning 17 of Team USA’s 25 medals, 13 in women’s events and four in mixed-gender competitions.
The event breakdown for the 2022 Beijing Olympics featured 46 women’s events, 51 men’s, and 12 mixed gender competitions.
The Dutch women also fared well in Beijing, claiming the most gold medals at the Winter Olympics with six.
The United and Canada both broke the record for women’s participation at a single Olympics, with 105 women’s athletes competing for each nation in Beijing. The two countries held the previous record of 101, set in PyeongChang.
Team USA placed fifth in the overall medal count, with Norway taking first with 16 gold medals.
