The preseason poll is out and the Longhorns are on top.
Texas received 32 votes for the top spot in the AVCA women’s college volleyball preseason poll. Wisconsin and defending NCAA champion Kentucky round out the top three.
The Big Ten has six teams in the top 15 alongside Wisconsin, with Nebraska, Minnesota and Purdue all sitting in the top 10. Meanwhile, the Pac-12 boasts six teams within the top 25, including Washington at No. 4.
Stanford ranks 21st despite going 2-8 last season and failing to qualify for the NCAA tournament for the first time since it began.
The ACC has four ranked teams, including No. 9 Pittsburgh.
Texas is set to begin its season Aug. 21 at LSU, while Wisconsin hosts the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge on Aug. 27-28. Minnesota, Baylor and TCU are set to join them.
