Stanford, the reigning NCAA champions, fell to No. 25 Texas on Sunday in a game that should shake up the national top-25 poll.

The Longhorns defeated Stanford 61-56 on their home court, handing the Cardinal their first non-conference home loss since 2017 and bringing their 21-game win streak to an end.

Freshman point guard Rori Harmon led Texas with 21 points, five rebounds and one assist, while junior Aaliyah Matharu added 17 points, two rebounds and two steals off the bench.

Stanford shot just 35.4 percent from the field and committed 20 turnovers to Texas’ 10. Lexie Hull was a bright spot for Stanford in the loss, posting a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Next up: Stanford, ranked No. 3 to start the season, will look to rebound against Portland on Tuesday. Texas will head home to host Southeast Missouri State on Wednesday.
