The Washington Mystics kept their playoff hopes alive, defeating the Sky 79-71 in Chicago on Sunday.

Tina Charles led the charge for Washington, notching 31 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and one steal for her tenth 30-point game of the regular season and the 167th double-double of her career. Mystics guard Natasha Cloud added 16 points, 8 assists and six rebounds in the win.

The Mystics were able to hold off Chicago down the stretch despite Candace Parker’s 12 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Washington pulled out the victory while missing some of its biggest stars, with Elena Delle Donne, Ariel Atkins and Myisha Hines-Allen unavailable for Sunday’s game.

Now firmly in eighth place in the WNBA standings, the Mystics will travel to New York on Friday to take on the ninth-place Liberty in a fight for the final playoff spot.
