Rodman will now be on the final tournament roster after Dahlkemper was ruled out due to a back injury. Get well soon, Abby! ❤️
February’s SheBelieves Cup, presented by Visa, will be Rodman’s first tournament appearance for the senior National Team. The 2021 Rookie of Year has made a name for herself in the NWSL, leading the Washington Spirit to a league championship in November. Last week, she also signed a historic $1.1 million extension with the Spirit.
Coach Vlatko Andonovski initially left Rodman off the full SheBelieves roster, while still speaking favorably about her January camp performance to reporters, saying, “Her mindset fits well in it.”
The USWNT head coach added that while her performance stood out, he wanted to give Rodman a chance to adjust to the national team system and not “burn her out.”
Rodman joins goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury as the only uncapped players on February’s roster.
The United States’ first SheBelieves match is set for Feb. 17 against the Czech Republic at 11 pm ET on ESPN.
