The Aces lead the league in points per game at 91.8. Of the league’s four 100-point games this year, Las Vegas has three of them.
Their success lies particularly in Hammon’s insistence that the team shoot the ball from long range. After ranking dead last in 3-pointers under Bill Laimbeer for the past three seasons, the Aces lead the WNBA with 95 made three-pointers and are averaging 37.8 percent from behind the arc.
Last week, the team tied the WNBA record with 18 made three-pointers in a win over the Los Angeles Sparks.
Tuesday marked the Aces’ seventh win in a row. In the 89-81 victory over the Connecticut Sun, A’ja Wilson led all scorers with 24 points and 14 rebounds while Jackie Young added 21. Connecticut’s DeWanna Bonner had 14 points while Alyssa Thomas added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
