WNBA Finals viewership keeps rising. Game 3 between the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream averaged 1.71 million viewers across USA Network, CNBC, and Peacock.
That ranks as the third-most-watched WNBA Finals game ever on cable.
WNBA Finals Viewership Climbs Again in Game 3
Only two games have drawn more on cable. The 2024 Lynx vs Liberty Game 5 pulled 2.15 million on ESPN, while last season’s Mercury vs Aces opener drew 1.86 million, also on ESPN.
Year-over-year, the 2026 WNBA Finals ratings jumped 31% from last year's Mercury vs Aces series (1.30 million). Game 3 additionally topped Game 2, which drew 1.33 million across USA, CNBC, and Peacock.
2026 WNBA Finals Ratings Ride a Winning Streak
The WNBA ratings have climbed consistently year over year. Game 3 marked the 12th straight Finals clash to top 1 million viewers. Meanwhile, the previous 80 WNBA Finals ratings never reached that bar.
Of course, timing helped. Game 3 was the first to avoid football. Game 1 aired opposite college football, while Game 2 ran alongside Monday Night Football.
Ratings for Saturday's Game 4 on NBC and Peacock is still pending. The best-of-seven series is tied 2-2 between the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream. It is now guaranteed to be the longest WNBA Finals ever, with the remaining games on USA Network, CNBC, and Peacock.
