Daria Kasatkina continues to rack up match victories on the WTA Tour, taking the Silicon Valley Classic title with a 6-7 (7-2), 6-1, 6-2 comeback win over Shelby Rogers on Sunday.
Her third comeback win of the week sealed her first WTA title of the season, but even without titles, she has had plenty of success on the court this year. Her 32 match wins tie her with Simona Halep for the third-most on tour in 2022.
With the win in San Jose, Kasatkina enters the top 10 in the world for the first time since 2019. In her run at Silicon Valley, the Russian player toppled No. 4 Paula Badosa, No. 6 Aryna Sabalenka, Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, Rogers and Taylor Townsend.
At No. 9, Kasatkina will have a new career-high world ranking after reaching No. 10 in 2019.
Daria Kasatkina will return to the Top 10 for the 1st time since 2019 on Monday.

“It’s a tough journey, which is still going on. I’m happy with the way things are going, especially this season, but I don’t want to stop, because I did this mistake already one time and I don’t want to repeat it,” she said. “I’m still hungry for the wins.”
Kasatkina will now set her sights on the Canadian Open in Toronto, where she’ll face off against Bianca Andreescu on Tuesday.
