The WTGL indoor team women's golf league hasn't played a single match yet, but Rose Zhang is already recruiting for season two. The two-time LPGA winner currently on New York Golf Club's roster told Front Office Sports she wants Nelly Korda, the reigning US Women's Open champion, in the fold next year.
"I think Nelly would obviously be very good for the game," Zhang said.
Why Nelly Korda Didn't Join the Inaugural WTGL Indoor Season
Korda, the top-ranked player in women's golf, has pushed back on the league's format. She called the decision to keep women's and men's competition separate a "huge and unbelievable miss." Despite her criticism, Zhang sees an opening, claiming a strong debut season could bring Korda around.
"If season one goes well, then maybe she would be on board," Zhang added.
The WTGL schedule tips off November 8th, when Zhang's squad faces Los Angeles Golf Club at the 1,500-seat SoFi Center in South Florida. Alongside teammates Lydia Ko, Danielle Kang, Linn Grant, and Yana Wilson, she'll compete across a league-wide five-team field.
ESPN and Ion carry the broadcasts through the championship series on December 23rd, filling a window in the LPGA schedule and giving top players a competitive stage during the offseason.
