When could Mikaela Shiffrin break career wins record?
Shiffrin is one short of tying the record.
Simone Biles publicly thanked the Japanese gym where she secretly trained after withdrawing from multiple gymnastics events at the Tokyo Olympics, citing her mental health.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Biles expressed her gratitude to Juntendo University “for allowing me to come train separately to try to get my skills back.”
I’ll forever be thankful for Junetendo ❤️ for allowing me to come train separately to try to get my skills back. The japanese are some of, if not the sweetest people I’ve ever met. https://t.co/2ZWrItJwAO

Biles’ message confirmed a report by The Wall Street Journal that the American gymnast had been privately training to regain her air awareness. The Juntendo University gym allowed Biles to overcome the “twisties” for hours at a time away from the glare of the Games.
Biles leaves Tokyo with a bronze medal on balance beam and a silver from team competition, for a total of seven medals across two Olympics.
Shiffrin is one short of tying the record.
And another record could await the star American skier.
Shiffrin came up short again this weekend.
The gymnast has competed in the last two Summer Games.
