The Phoenix Mercury ended their four-game losing streak Friday night, downing the Los Angeles Sparks 80-66.

Skylar Diggins-Smith scored a game-high 21 points, adding four assists and four rebounds. Friday night marked Diggins-Smith’s seventh 20-point game of the season. Brianna Turner came up big for Phoenix as well, shooting 75 percent from the field with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Erica Wheeler led the Sparks in scoring with 17 points, followed by Brittney Sykes with 14. Los Angeles’ offense, however, wasn’t able to find its rhythm against the Mercury defense, shooting only 38.3 percent from the field.

Phoenix’s win comes only two days after the team fell to Los Angeles, losing by five points down the stretch. The two teams are now even in their three-game regular-season series, with a decisive third game to be played on June 27.
