No. 1 South Carolina continues to show why they’re college hoops’ top-ranked team, downing South Dakota 72-41 at the Mammoth Sports Construction Invitational Friday night.

Destanni Henderson led scoring for the Gamecocks with 15 points, including four 3-pointers. Aliyah Boston helped out on both sides of the ball, notching five rebounds, four blocks and nine points.

The Gamecocks hit the gas early, jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. South Carolina out-rebounded South Dakota 49 to 25 while holding their opponents to 25 percent shooting.

Next up: The Gamecocks will be back in action on Wednesday, hosting Clemson at the Colonial Life Arena.
