Sue Bird is in a league of her own.

With her fourth assist in the Storm’s 85-77 loss to the Mercury on Friday night, Bird became the first WNBA player to record 3,000 career assists. The Seattle guard is currently averaging 5.7 assists per game in her 18th season in the league.

Bird and the Strom put up a fight against Phoenix, but Brittney Griner (29 points and 15 rebounds) and Skylar Diggins-Smith (26 points) led Phoenix past Seattle. For Griner, it was her 10th double-double of the season.

Despite the loss, the Storm clinched a spot in the inaugural Commissioner’s Cup championship game.

They will face the Connecticut Sun, who clinched the Eastern Conference bid Friday night, in the championship game on Aug. 12. The game will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
