The Phoenix Mercury are making moves this offseason. The 2021 WNBA finalists are finalizing a trade that would send Diamond DeShields to the Dallas Wings, according to ESPN’s Andraya Carter.
DeShields was reportedly informed of the deal on Thursday, although it is not yet completed. It’s unclear what the Mercury would get in return. In conjunction with that report, Winsidr’s Rachel Galligan reported that the trade would involve four teams and Marina Mabrey being dealt to the Chicago Sky.
Final terms for each team are reportedly still being finalized.
Sources inform @Winsidr that it is expected to be a four-team trade with final terms for each team being finalized as we speak.

DeShields joined Phoenix last offseason in a trade with the Sky, who drafted her third overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft.
She later opened up about a tumor diagnosis and surgery she had to remove the tumor in 2019. Telling ESPN’s Holly Rowe about the diagnosis, she detailed the recovery process and her journey to winning a WNBA championship with the Sky in 2021.
DeShields says that she considered retirement during the ordeal, which included overcoming full-body tremors and learning how to walk again.
The guard played in 30 games last season, averaging 13.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
Mabrey, meanwhile, has spent the last two seasons with Dallas, which included starting 32 of 34 games for Dallas and averaging a career-high 13.6 points and 3.7 assists per game in 2022.
