The OL Reign have signed Jimena López through the 2023 season, the club announced Tuesday.
Selected 28th overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft by the OL Reign, López opted to start her professional career with SD Eibar in the Spanish Primera División. With Eiber, the 22-year-old started in 16 matches, playing 1,361 minutes and notching one goal.
Prior to playing professionally, López was named 2019 SEC Midfielder of the Year and 2020 Co-Defender of the Year while playing for Texas A&M. A two-time All-SEC First Team selection, López amassed 70 appearances, 17 goals and 23 assists.
López is also a member of the Mexican National Team, playing at the U-15, U-17 and U-20 levels. She has also made 23 appearances on the senior national team, including 21 starts.
