Karen Bardsley has been forced to withdraw from Team GB due to injury.
The English goalkeeper sustained a hamstring injury in a game with her club team, OL Reign, on May 30. Bardsley is currently on loan at OL Reign from Manchester City.

“…to be forced to withdraw through injury so close to the Games feels devastatingly cruel. Regardless of the situation, I’ll do whatever I can to help my teammates and Team GB every step along the way,” said Bardsley.
The 35-year-old has competed in three World Cups for the English national team and represented Team GB in the 2012 Olympics.
Bardsley’s replacement is expected to be named shortly, with the Olympics a little over a month away.
